In the Ocean教学设计

1. Greeting

T: Hello, boys and girls! My name is Serena. I am your new friend today.

T: I like English and reading. What do you like? Do you like reading?

  What animal do you like best?

T: Do you remember our animal friends?

S: Fish. Rabbits. Dogs. Parrots.

T: Let’s play a game about animals. OK? 快速问答

  What colour is the panda?

  What colour is the tiger?

  What animal can fly / swim / run fast?

  Who has a fat body and a long nose?

  Who has four legs and a short tail?

  What animal likes eating bananas and peaches?

  Where does the fish/lion live?

T: When we talk about animals, we usually talk about their colour, their body. What can they do, what do they eat and where do they live?边说边写板书:思维导图

S: We are going to read a book today. There are many animals in it. They all live in the ocean. 出示In the ocean

2. Before reading ——Introduce the topic

T: It is from the Oxford University Press. It’s a book from the Dolphin Readers.

T: What do you know about the ocean?

T presents the mind map of the word ocean, students talk about “What I know”.

T: Yes. There is a wonderful world......(第二页)

  When we are reading, pictures and adjectives sometimes help a lot.

  Let’s explore the ocean together.

T: What else do you want to know? 写下学生提问的关键词

3. While reading

Step 1. Picture walk

T: Look at the pictures quickly and find out the ocean animals/plants in 2 minutes. And Picture Dictionary at the back can help you.

Step 2.Sample reading

T: Look! Do you remember this animal?

S: It’s dugong.

T: Do you know the Chinese name? Look it up in youdao dictionary.

T: It’s also called sea cow and ...

T: OMG. Do you believe it? Let’s read about it. OK?

T: Now turn to page 26, listen and find out the key words.

T: Let me check your understanding.

T: Can you say something about dugongs?

Step 3. Group reading

T: Now it’s your turn to read.

  Look here. In this book, there are some ocean animals.(分别出示图片,一个个说)

  What ocean animal do you want to know?

T: Choose one, come here.

T: Then listen, read, find key words to finish the mind map with your reading mate.

Students choose their favorite part to learn in groups.

Share(一组同学一起上来,投两个屏,一个是那页的电子书,一个是思维导图的拍照,以一位同学为主介绍,其他人可以补充)

4. After reading

T: Here is a task paper. We can check what I learned from this book. So write the name of the book, write 3 new things you learned, write 1 things you already knew, and draw your favorite part. Then introduce this book to more people. OK?

Time is up. You can read again to know more about the ocean.
