一、 教学内容:绘本Halloween
二、 教学目标:通过学习,整理理解绘本的大致意思,并了解万圣节的相关习俗和文化
三、 教学重难点:

2. 学会阅读整本书的方法
Step 1. Warming up
T: Hello, boys and girls. What’s the date today?
S: It’s Oct. 10th.
T: Yes. Look at the picture. What’s the date in the picture?
S: It’s Oct. 30th.
T: What festival is coming?
S: Halloween.
T: Yes, they are talking about Halloween.(板书Halloween)
T: When is Halloween? Oct the 30th ?
S: Oct the 31st.
Step 2. Presentation and practice
1. Basic information
T: I have 3 questions for you. Who (are they)? Where (are they)? What (are they doing)? Look carefully.
Ss look and say the key words: Ben and his family, in the sitting-room, would like to buy things for a Halloween party
T: How to make a sentence with these phrases? ( Present: are, they )
Ss read the sentence.
2. What do they need? ( Listen and tick )
T: Yes, they would like to buy things for a Halloween party.
Here are many things, do you know them?
Ss read the words together: chocolate, candies, masks, flowers, balloons, vase, pumpkin.
T: Now listen to them, remember what do they need?(板书)
Keys: chocolate, flowers, vase, masks, pumpkin lantern.
3. Shopping online ( Jigsaw reading )
T: They need so many things. Now they are buying things online.
( ppt presents the picture of Wechat. )
T: Mum is talking to the assistant on Wechat, but it’s not complete.
Now take out blue and yellow paper, read aloud and find the matching messages in your groups.
Ss read and find the matching messages in groups.
Check
T: How many people in are there in this dialogue?
Assistants please stand up. Mums sit on your chairs, I am Ron. Let’s read.
Read in roles.

4. More information about Halloween
T: Yes, they bought so many things for a Halloween party
What else do you know about Halloween?
T: In your basket, there are some pictures, choose the pictures about Halloween, put them up on your poster. You have 1 mintue.
Check: Team 1, what do you know? ( 小老师read and teach the others )
Learn the new words: ghost, bat, spider, witch, haunted house, trick or treat, pumpkin lantern.
T: Wow, you know a lot about Halloween, and this book can tell you more. Each group has 4-5 pages, only a part of the book, please read in your groups.
Step 3. Consolidation
T: I have some tasks for you.
Task 1. Speed reading.(黑板上出示不完整的目录,请学生填写完整)
T: Look at the pictures, find the key words, then write down on the paper.
Check: Let’s look at the pictures together. Just tell me one word about each picture, ok?
T: So what are they about? Do you have different ideas?
Task 2. Read and answer
T: Group leaders, you can give orders, ask your teammates to read, OK? Your question is on the last page. Please discuss and answer.
Check: Boys and girls, what’s question 1? ( Team 1 answer )
Q1: When is Halloween? ( on the night before All Hallows Day )
Q2: How to make a pumpkin lantern? ( Carve the pumpkin, put a candle in it)
Q3: Where are the decorations? ( They are on the doors or windows )
Q4: What do we say on Halloween? ( Trick or treat )
Q5: Can you say a Halloween rhyme?
Q6: What can we do on Halloween?
( Tell stories, have snacks, play games, bobbing for apples )
Task 3. Make a poster.
Step 1. Choose your topic
Step 2. Stick, draw and write
Step 3. Rehearsal
Step 4. Take the poster, go to your teacher/classmates
Task 4. Share your part with us.
Step 4. Homework
1. Share the information about Halloween according to the poster.
2. Read the whole book HALLOWEEN.
